Prayer Shawl Knitters

Prayer Shawls are lovingly knit or crocheted by Our Savior’s Prayer Shawl Ministry Wednesday afternoons at 4 PM.

Knitting for others provides a tangible way of expressing prayer and comfort to someone in need. While making the shawl, prayers are interwoven in the shawl to grant comfort, healing and spiritual well-being to the recipient. We pray that the recipient may feel the presence of God’s gracious, loving arms enfolding them. Knitting a prayer shawl also comforts the knitter, relieving daily stress and opening their hearts to the pain of others. Spirituality is built through prayer and reflection, and the creative process is steeped in both. Prayer Shawls are available in the Chapel for anyone to give to someone in need of comfort.
