About Our Savior's Lutheran Church - Women of the E.L.C.A.: We are a service group that is affiliated to W.E.L.C.A. on a national level. We strive to invite and involve all women of the church in our missions and programs, which foster "discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowerment by the Holy Spirit."
When we meet: The W.E.L.C.A. Board meets the third Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m., with the exception of June, July and December
Where we meet: At the Church, Room 210
What we do: We serve the Lord with ongoing mission projects - gathering and sending needed items for midwife kits, school kits, and sewing kits, sewing and collecting soap for Lutheran World Relief, Thankoffering boxes and Project Comfort.
We assemble and deliver Christmas boxes to homebound members, and send birthday cards to all Shorehaven residents, as well as greeting cards and packages to members serving in the military.
We organize several annual events for the congregation and the community - the Mother/Daughter/Friend Banquet Tuesday, May 6, 2008, the Summer/Fall Excursion, Women's Thankoffering Services, and the annual Cookie Sale Sat., Dec. 6.
The Altar Guild sets up communion and holiday displays throughout the year, cares for all of the candles, paraments, special banners, acolyte robes, altar linens, robes for communion assistants and communion linens, and dresses the altar for the seasons of the church year.
Two prayer circles meet monthly. The Serving Committee is part of the group.
