About Our Savior's Lutheran Church - Women of the E.L.C.A.: All women of Our Savior's are members of WELCA.

Purpose: As a community of women, created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, We commit ourselves to:

    Invite participation in events that offer entertainment and Christian fellowship for members of this congregation and the community:

  • Thanksgiving Pie Fest
  • Christmas Tea

    Nurture through Christ’s teachings and sharing Christ’s love in small group traditional bible studies, promoting large group retreats and contemporary women’s conferences:

  • Altar Guild
  • Women of Faith Conference
  • SIS, River of Life Retreat
  • Pine Lake Camp Retreat

    Worship God weekly with passion and humility, the women of the ELCA serve as members of the choir, ushers, lectors, and communion assistants. Monthly, we host coffee hour, serving Him in serving others. Our Thankoffering worship is a traditional women’s focused service, hosted by women.

    Involve women in service to the church, the community, and the world doing His work. From sending midwife kits to Africa to donating funds to local charities, we raise the funds and distribute over $5,000 annually. The quilters sew to send comfort to the poor and raise funds with their talent and art. Included efforts are:
  • The Annual Cookie Sale
  • Funeral Luncheon Service
  • Lutheran World Relief
  • Lutherdale Quilt Auction

    Send members into the mission field. Everyday our members are in the community serving their families and others. We keep in touch with our elderly at Shorehaven, Wilkinson Woods, and Three Pillars as well as those limited to their homes. Included is:
  • Christmas Visits
  • Senior Birthday Tidings
  • “Comfort Contact” to our college bound youth
  • Kikatiti Youth Education Scholarship Sponsors

    WELCA is a service group steeped in tradition and focused on new opportunities for our future. Affiliated on a national level we strive to invite and involve all women of the church in our missions and programs, which foster "discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowerment by the Holy Spirit."

    When we meet: *The Board meets the third Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m. in Room 210

    The Altar Guild sets up communion and holiday displays throughout the year, cares for all of the candles, paraments, special banners, acolyte robes, altar linens, robes for communion assistants and communion linens, and dresses the altar for the seasons of the church year.
